There is no officially released XAT 2023 syllabus. However, the upcoming XAT exam will be almost like the previous years. Going by the XAT previous year question papers and exam trends, the exam comprises five sections, Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning, Decision Making, Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation, General Knowledge, and an Essay section.

XAT is a national-level MBA entrance exam conducted annually for admission to management programs/courses at XLRI and other top MBA colleges in India. This year, XLRI will conduct the Xavier Aptitude Test on January 8, 2023, in CBT mode. The number of questions asked in the aptitude test varies from year to year. It is expected that approximately 22-30 questions will be asked in each section and the total number of questions will not cross 100-105 including General Knowledge. However, the general knowledge and essay will not be used to calculate the cutoff and will be used only at the time of the interview stage. In this blog, we have shared a detailed XAT 2023 syllabus for the reference of the candidates aspiring for the upcoming entrance exam.

XAT 2023 Syllabus

Xavier Aptitude Test will be conducted in online mode and the overall exam duration is 190 minutes. Since the aptitude test syllabus is vast, candidates should commence their preparation accordingly. Candidates are advised to go through the previous year’s XAT exam syllabus 2022 to understand the exam trends and align their studies based on their analysis. XAT 2023 Syllabus: Quantitative Aptitude (QA) & Data Interpretation (DI)

The syllabus for QA and DI section is likely to be similar to the previous year’s XAT syllabus 2022. This section is expected to have 28 questions and each question shall carry one mark. As per the XAT previous year question papers, most of the questions asked in this section were from Data Sufficiency, Algebra, Arithmetic, Mixed Graph, Coordinate Geometry, Time Zone, etc. The topics of the XAT QA & DI syllabus are outlined below:

XAT 2023 Syllabus: Verbal & Logical Reasoning

The Verbal Ability syllabus for XAT 2023 is expected to have the same topics/chapters as previous years XAT exam syllabus 2022. A total of 26 questions of moderate-high level difficulty will be asked in the VA section. As per the previous year’s trend, questions in this section are mainly asked from topics like Analogy, Reading Comprehension, Poem, Fill in the Blanks, Antonym and Parajumbles

XAT 2023 Syllabus: Decision Making (DM)

Decision Making is one of the unique & interesting sections in XAT exam because this subject is not a part of many MBA entrance exams. The syllabus for this section is going to remain the same as previous years. The difficulty level of this section will be moderate to high. There will be 21 questions asked in this section. XAT 2023 Syllabus: General Knowledge (GK)

The XAT General Knowledge section is tricky, yet it is one of the highest scoring sections in the exam. There is no change expected in the syllabus of this section. A total of 25 questions will be asked in this section. The level of difficulty will be moderate. XAT 2023 Syllabus: Essay Section

The XAT syllabus for the essay section is not defined by the officials. However, this essay section carries one question. Two topics will be provided to the candidates out of which they have to select one and write an essay of 250 or fewer words. The essay topics can be related to abstract topics, social issues, current affairs, business & management-oriented topics, etc
